The Story of Brown Water Basement

Brown Water Basement was never meant to be just another whiskey club—it was built to be something more.

Founded five years ago by Sean Corcoran and two close friends, what began as casual pours in a basement quickly turned into a full-blown passion project. That passion led to our first private barrel pick, and from there, we were hooked. Today, we’ve proudly selected nearly 40 barrels, each one handpicked with care, intention, and a refusal to follow the crowd.

At Brown Water Basement, we don’t chase trends—we start them. We focus on supporting craft distilleries and brands that match our level of passion, not just the ones getting all the hype. We look for authenticity, transparency, and excellence, and we demand more from every bottle we put our name on.

But this club isn’t just about what’s in the glass. It’s about family. We’ve grown into a genuine community of people who show up for each other, whether it’s for a pour or for something bigger. And we’ve done it without charging fees, ever. We simply ask that members support those who support us, from the barrel partners to the local shops to the folks showing up every week to build this thing with us.

Brown Water Basement is a different kind of barrel club—founded on passion, purpose, and people. And five years in, we’re just getting started.
